Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah

Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah is the fifth child and fourth daughter of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha.

Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Hafizah was born on March 12, 1980 and started her formal education at International School in 1984.

Her Royal Highness showed strong dedication in her studies, and continued her secondary education at Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Science College.

In 1993, HRH passed her BJCE and in June 1995 achieved excellence in GCE ‘O’ Level. HRH continued her studies at Maktab Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah.

HRH achieved Second Class Upper in Bachelor of Business Administration from Universiti Brunei Darussalam in 2002.

After graduation, HRH worked for the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam at the Ministry of Finance.

In religious aspects, HRH completed Khatam Al-Quran with HRH’s sister, HRH Princess Hajah Majeedah Nuurul Bolkiah and HRH Princess ‘Azemah Ni’matul Bolkiah in a ceremony at the Istana Nurul Iman on March 21, 1996.

Among HRH’s friends, HRH has proven to be a student with a truly pleasant and polite personality, dedicated and friendly. HRH has always shown a high degree of respect towards her teachers.

HRH is also much loved and admired by her peers.

 

Pengiran Haji Muhammad Ruzaini bin Pengiran Dr Hj Mohd Yakub

Pengiran Haji Muhammad Ruzaini was born on January 18, 1983. He is the second of five siblings in the family of Dr Hj Mohd Yakub bin Pengiran Hj Othman and Dayang Hajah Zainon binti Dato Paduka Haji Elias.

His eldest brother is Pengiran Muhammad Afizan, a businessman. His siblings include Dayangku Dr Amalina, Medical Officer, Ministry of Health; Dayangku Amal Aqilah, Legal Officer at the Ministry of Finance; and Awangku Muhammad Tarmizi, studying at University of Coventry, England.

He went to PGGMB School and later studied at St Andrew’s School until 1996.

Pengiran Haji Muhammad Ruzaini obtained a Certi-ficate of Higher Education in Economics, University of Surrey in 2003 and Bachelor of Arts Degree with Honours in Economics, University of Coventry, England in 2005.

His working career began with the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam at the Civil Aviation Department, Ministry of Communications in 2006 as Marketing Officer and since 2009, he has been holding the post of Special Duties Officer at the Economics and Financial Development and Planning Division, Prime Minister’s Office (JPM) until now.

Pengiran Haji Muhammad Ruzaini has participated in a number of meetings and courses, among which include a Working Visit to Civil Authority, Singapore and Malaysian Civil Aviation Department, Conference on ‘Maximising Non-Aviation Revenue for Airports’ in Singapore, Conference on ‘Achieving World Class Service Culture’ at the IPA and ‘Maximising Non-Aeronautical Revenue’ for Airports in Malaysia and several others.

During his duties at the Civil Aviation Department, Pengiran Haji Muhammad Ruzaini was also posted as Liaison Officer for the 6th Asean Telmin, Telsom Working Groups Meeting, Head of Secretariat for Communication Committee, Brunei International Airport, and Secretary to the Working Committee of Customer Day at the Civil Aviation Dept, Members of the Committee for Arrival and Departure (Airport), Royal Wedding Ceremonies of Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Majeedah Nuurul Bolkiah and others.

While at Prime Minister’s Office, Pengiran Haji Muhammad Ruzaini attended various meetings, including the 16th AFA Conference in Brunei, APEC – ‘Enforcing Contract, Ease of Doing Business’ in Korea, ‘Perfecting Key Performance Indicators’, ‘Asean-OECD Investment Policy Conference’ and the 19th Asean Summit, Bali.

Pengiran Haji Muhammad Ruzaini was elected as a committee member of the ‘Task Force Prime Minister’s Corporation’ in 2009.

He had also held various other posts including Member of Secretariat for Foreign Direct Investment, Secretariat to handle issues pertaining to delay in payment to improve government income receipts and enhance Global Competitive Index (GCI).
